Except the Highlight shade all the rest of the Shades in the quad a mattes. The Highlight shade has a bit of a shimmer however its looks more of a satin finish when you apply.

If you are new to applying eye shadow you can use these as listed. The Base color all over the lid, the Contour color on the crease the Define color to define the outer V and the highlight to highlight the brow bone. You can also mix and match the colors to create whatever look you like. I like using this by itself when I'm pressed for time but I also mix In other shimmery colors on top of this to give me more options. The looks that come out of using these quads are very neutral  and wearable.

If you think that the Shades on this Quad are similar to the Original Shade and Light eye contour palette you are correct. They are similar however not exact. None of the shades are actual duplicates of the original palette.

The quality of the shade are very true to Kat von D eye shadow formula. They do kick up a lot of shadow when you out your brush into the pans but picks up a nice amount of product and blend very nicely on the eyes. The Mattes blend nicely on top of one another as well

All in all I think this is a nice Quad however if you have the original Shade and light palette you might want to pass on this particular Quad as this is very similar.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit - Gleam

This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam. This is the Kit which has the cooler shades. There is also a warm Kit in Glow which has peach/golden tones. I myself prefer the pink shades on myself

Gleam kit has 4 shades of pink tone highlights that are .26oz each for $40. So you do get a really good amount of product and value cannot be beaten. The pans are also removable to if you need to take a shade or two you could.

The shades in the kit are highly pigmented and almost has a creamy texture. The shades blends out beautifully and almost gives you a wet glow to your skin. If find that the formula for me does not exaggerate my pores in any way and that it gives me a skin like glow . None of the shades have any glitter particles which I really do not like in highlights.  If you want a barely there highlight this is not for you. All of the colors are going to be BAM in your face highlights.   The shades themselves can be worn as highlights, eye shadow, blush or blush toppers which gives you a verity of ways to use these

Hard Candy - this is the Darkest shade in the kit. This I would describe as a mid tone pink highlight with some dual chrome. If you have fair skin this would work well as a beautiful blush and if you are dark skin like me this is a pretty highlight or a blush topper

Mimosa - this is a peachy pink highlight. This again would work as a beautiful blush or a blush topper

Starburst - this is straight up pinky highlight with some silver to it. This is my favorite color from this kit

Crushed Pearl - this is exactly as described. Its a Crushed pearl. Gives the skin a beautiful sheen

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks Review

So I got these beautiful lipsticks that were sent to me by Influenster voxbox. This is my very first Voxbox I received from them so I'm super Excited to review these as I already know that I love these lipstick formula

I received #09 in Rose Stiletto and #19 in Fuchsia. Rose Stiletto is described as  a rich berry rose while Fuchsia is bright magenta purple. And as usual comes in the beautiful gold YSL packaging and feels luxurious. They smell good and are not too offensive if you are sensitive to smell. The colors are pigmented and are creamy and does not dry out your lips. If you thought that the Rouge Volupte lipsticks were too slippery on your lips then you should check this line of lipsticks instead

#19 Fuchsia
Fuchsia is a Bright magenta  purple pink. This has a beautiful satin finish and has full color in one swipe. If you love bright colors on your lips this is the color for you.  For me this is too bright to be worn full on but what I have been doing instead is to put some stone lip liner on (by MAC) and then dab this over and blending it with my finger. This gives a sheer wash of the color and the lip liner dulls the brightness a bit and looks almost like a stain on my lips. I have really been liking the effect that it gives. It also lasts a long time. I have worn it this way for about 6 hours without re-touching.

#09 Rose Stiletto

Rose Stiletto is a beautiful berry shade that I think would look good on any skin tone. I found this color to have a bit more of a glosser look than the fuchsia. Keep in mind that this does not mean its sheer. This is a beautiful shade for the fall. Its not too bright, not too dark, not too light and not too red. Its has just the right amount of everything. Personally I do not like berry colors on my lips as they tend to have too much red but this color is just perfect. It is a great everyday color.

All in all I highly recommend this line of lipsticks by YSL. They are available at most department stores that carries YSL and also ar Sephora. And if these colors do not float you boat then there are tons of different colors to choose from. I already have # 24 and  I am eyeing #70 and #10 which  I think I will go ahead and purchase very soon :)

Tarte Holidaze Palette - 2015 Holiday Blush Palette

This Year's Palette is Really pretty with Black sparkles/glitter all around it. The Palette is compacted and slim and is nice for travel. Keep in mind however that the Glitter does fall out. You get 5 colors with 0.15 oz each (Which is a goo amount)

Fetching , Dollface, Prim , Smashing, and Beaming

Out of the 5 colors provided only Dollface  is a permanent color. Rest are all limited to this Palette.

  • Fetching (Rose)
  • Dollface(Cool Pink)
  • Prim(Plum Nude)
  • Smashing (Coral Pink)
  • Beaming (apricot Pink)
Beaming has some shimmer running thru it and is the least pigmented of all. Rest are all a satin/matte.  Prim is very close to Exposed. With the Exception of beaming the rest of the colors are all very pigmented and smooth. They blend beautifully and are no exception to the usual Tarte Quality.

If you love Tarte Blushes or if you have none and would like to try out different colors this Palette is a good option. I am just a makeup lover and I still think that this is worth every penny

Lime Crime Cashmere

This is a liquid lipstick (velvetines) from Lime crime and probably one of the most unique colors you can find on the market. Lime crime describes this as half beige and half grey which for the most part is true. But what is unique about this color is that it looks different one each person who wears is. This is a shade I would call universally flattering on any skin tone weather you are pale to the most deepest skin.

On my skin this looks a beige mauve color with a hint of grey. I find this to be an excellent nude for me. It goes on very smooth on the lips just like all velvertines and dries down to a matt finish on the lips. The formula is very light weight and last for about 4 to 5 hours on my lips. I find however it does dry my lips a bit but nothing a little lip balm cannot fix.

All in all I think if you like velvetines this would be a good color to invest on.

Tarte Tartelette Palette

This Palette from Tarte is a ALL matt palette leaning on plum brown neutrals. Though this leans on more to be more cool toned it still does have some warm shades which makes this palette very versatile. I find that the formula of the shadows are a bit different than that the usual Tarte shadows. Usually I find that the Tarte shadows are more soft and kicks up a lot of powder, however the shadows in this palette do not kick up much powder. Even though the shadows are not as soft I find that the pigmentation is extremely good. The shades are dark enough for even the darkest skin

The shadows are very smooth and creamy and do not blend away to nothingness. I find this a great matt palette and is a great addition  to any makeup collection.

It Cosmetics CC Radiance Palette

The palette is a fairly new release for it cosmetics and I found this available at ulta.com while browsing. This consists of a Bronzer a Blush and a Brightening power

All the colors on this palette are pigmented smooth bearable and like any It Cosmetic product does not disappoint. The colors are very universal and I find that most skin tones can use all the products quite easily. The finished look that this gives is very effortless and natural.

T to B : Bronzer , Blush and Brighter

I find that what makes this palette unique is the brightening power that comes with it . This powder is not your usual  highlighting powders you find with every blush Bronzer  highlight palettes. It gives you the most natural glow from within look. If you like the shimmery highlighters that packs a punch this is not or you. If you have mature skin and want just a beautiful glow that does not look overdone and looks pretty and effortless this is your best friend. Used lightly this can also be used under your eyes for a brightening effect and it is almost impossible too over do this

Brightening Power

The Blush gives you a pretty flush to your cheeks and I find that this will work with almost any skin tone. While it is Matt it is not flat. This is more of a satin on your cheeks and blends beautifully and looks like skin. If you have fair skin you will need to use a light hand since this is a very pigmented blush. This color is very similar to the blush that comes on the Vitality face disk.

Blush

This Bronzer seems to be the same Bronzer that it Cosmetics makes however it is more pigmented. If you are  Tan or lighter this will work as a beautiful Bronzer and if you are darker this can be used as a sitting powder or a all over powder. It blends easily and looks beautiful. Very light skin can probably use this as a contour  tho on my skin this leans more warm

Bronzer

L to R : Brightening Power , Blush, Bronzer
All in all I think what makes this palette worth your while is the brightening powder that comes with it. While the blush and the Bronzer are not unique shades they still do look beautiful. If you do decide to invest on this I believe you will not be disappointed

MAC Mineralize Lipstick in Touch the Earth

This lipstick is from the Lightness of Being Collection and is the only shade of lipstick I was drawn to. It is described as a Light wood brown on the Mac site. I find this to be a cool tone taupe with a bit of tiny bit mauve

The Mac Mineralized lipstick formula is one of my favorite formulas that they make and this is no exception. Its creamy and pigmented with a beautiful sheen to it. If you are a dark skin girl this color would be a beautiful nude.

Touch the Earth
I find that the most similar color that I have for this color is "to Pamper" lipstick from Mac which is a luster and is one of my all time favorite nudes. Unfortunately this was a limited edition color. To Pamper is a touch more grey. Our Pick Mac lipstick is also similar however is more pigmented and a has more pink/mauve to it
