Clinique Superbalanced silk foundation in silk Sable

Clinique Superbalanced silk makeup is a foundation that claims to control oil yet hydrates the skin offering a natural finish. This contains 1floz/ 30ml and retails for $25 at any retailer that sells this brand. My color in this foundation is Silk sable

For me this foundation gives a light to medium coverage so if you are looking for more of a fuller coverage then this is not for you. It wears on its own on my combination skin for about 5 hours before you see it breaking down.

Personally on its own this foundation does not offer enough coverage for my liking. However this foundation offers a beautiful finish that I absolutely love. I have used this everyday since I bought it as a thin (very thin) layer on top of any foundation I'm wearing and it gives my skin a beautiful glow without looking like I have too much makeup on. If you love the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation then you would absolutely love this as this is  quite similar. The GA Luminous Silk in my opinion offers a bit more coverage.

However if you love a light coverage then this is a foundation you might wish to check on.

Buxom Eyeshadows - Customizable

I have heard a lot about Buxom eye shadows for a  while now so I decided to try some out in a customizable palette.  Buxom do have some pre-made palettes to choose from however I chose to try out colors that I would know I would wear and love. The palette retails for $40  for 6 shadows at Sephora, Ulta and Macys.

Mink Magnet - this is described as a metallic bronze. On my darker skin this shows more as a rose bronze than a actual bronzy bronze. The texture on this shadow is a bit chunky to the touch but it blends out beautifully on the eye.

Haute Couture - this is described as a metallic Java. I would say that the color description on this is right on. If you have darker skin this would be a beautiful lid color for a Smokey eye. This is smooth to the touch unlike the mink Magnet even tho it is also a metallic shade

Spoiled Sexy - this is described as a Matte Mauve. This is a beautiful matte highly pigmented cool toned mauve that is great for a crease color for almost any skin tone. It is darker than MAC Haux but is almost the same color. If you already have Haux from MAC then you do not need this color. Personally I find that Spooled sexy blends in a bit better.

Filthy Rich - this is described as a Matte Chestnut. This is a extremely warm medium tone brown. On lighter skin this would most likely look more of a orange brown. This is more darker and richer than than MAC brown script

Big Spender - is described as a Matte Sable. This is a dark neutral toned brown. On darker skin this is a very natural  outta V color for a day look

Hot or Yacht - is described as a Matte Ash. This is more of a black/brown cool toned color. Out of all the matte colors I have I did find that this was the hardest to blend. While it did blend it took a bit of an effort for me to really get this color blending without looking patchy. If you have drier eyelids then I would say skip this color

NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Stripped - Swatch and review

NARS Velvet Lip Glides claims to have a  high-pigment formula that glides on like a gloss but covers like a lipstick and feels like nothing on your lips

They come in 12 colors and retails for $26

These velvet lip glides do glide on your lips very smoothly and does dry down to a Simi-matte finish. However these do not dry down completely to a matte finish and is not transfer proof. They stay on for a good amount of time but you will need to apply them throughout the day. If the regular liquid lipsticks feels too dry and uncomfortable then you might want to give these a try as they are very comfortable on the lips. They do no dry out your lips but still gives you the same affect as your traditional liquid lipstick

The color range has a good mix of nudes/ mid tones / reds and berries

Stripped is the nudest color in the range and it is a good beige nude. It is a very neutral nude. For darker skin I recommend using this with a lip liner (ex: MAC Stone) .

Cover FX Illuminating Setting Powder Swatch and Review

Cover FX illuminating Setting Powder comes in 2 different shades and in two sizes.

I got the Travel size in Medium that retails for $10 for 4g / 0.14 oz. The full size retails for $32 for 10g/0.35oz. so basically you get more getting the travel size.

The Medium shade as you see below is not meant for medium skin tones as you can see below. Its quite dark If you have Tan to dark skin tones then this is the shade is for you. Anyone who has lighter skin than tan then you will need the lighter shade.

This powder is finely milled and can be used to set your whole face or your under eyes. It does not look heavy and gives the skin a natural look with a pretty glow. Dry to normal skin types would love this powder. I have combination skin and I love this to set my under eyes however in the summer this is a bit too much for me for my whole face. But during fall and winter I do enjoy this to set my whole face.

The powder is illuminating but does not contain any shimmers or glitters. It gives the skin a beautiful natural glow/sheen. If you are looking for a good setting powder and you have dry or mature skin this powder is worth checking out

Jouer Eyeshadows - Amaretto and Cappuccino

Jouer is a Brand that I just dipped my toes into and I have to say I'm impressed.  These are my first 2 products from Jouer and I really love them.

Jouer eye Shadows retails for $22 dollars each and contains 2.2g/0.077oz of product. What's really neat about this brand is that you can connect all products in however way you prefer to make your own palette or you can separate them and carry then individually

The Shadows themselves blend beautifully and are really silky. The 2 shades I have creates a really pretty simple eye but if I want more I bring in some of my mac shades.

Amaretto -described as shimmering bronzed plum. This is a true description of this color. The shade is a pigmented medium shimmery plum brown. Its a very flattering color and can work on different kinds of skin tones. The shimmer is fine and does not have any glitter particles and gives the eye a pretty wash of color with some high sheen. It is very smooth and buildable and blends like a dream. If you have mature lids this formula will not  emphasize any fine lines

Cappuccino - described  as matte dark Chocolate - this description is right on the mark. It is a dark chocolate brown that is pretty neutral. This color is really pigmented and is dark enough for darker skin tone but can be really sheered out for lighter skin tones. Matte shadows can be tricky to blend out but this holds the color while not being patchy and also blends really nicely with other mate shades. It is once again really smooth to the touch and picks up nice amount of color on a brush.

All in all I think these are a really nice formula and is worth the $22 price tag.

Sephora Brand Oil infusion Lip oils

The Sephora Brand products are not talked about a lot however if you do try some of these products you will see that Sephora Store brand does have a few gems hidden that preforms just as good if not better than their higher end alternatives

One such products are their Oil infusion lip colors / Lip Oils. These retail for $14 at Sephora and contains 6ml/0.18oz and come in  9 shades

If the YSL Tint in Oil is not in your budget this is a very good alternative. To me they feel the same on the lips. The only difference is that the Sephora Oil infusions does not leave a stain behind like the YSL

The Sephora Brand Lip oils are really nice if you need just a hint of color and are very hydrating and comfortable. They do not feel heavy and are non-sticky. I find that the smell is not over powdering but is pleasant but you do have to reapply it quite often. I love using these over lipsticks or liquid lipsticks when they feel a bit dry.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Heartless Swatch

Urban Decay Vice lipsticks comes in a few different formulas and 100 different shades to choose from.

I did post a review of the mega matte formula on my blog before in the color Oblivion. Click on the this link if you want to see that blog post

This is the color Heartless in the comfort matte formula. I would describe this color as a cool toned light pink. This color is very wearable by any skin tone. If you have darker skin then try paring this with a lip liner such as MAC Stone or Chestnut. While the color isn't all that unique I have to say that the formula is. This Comfort Matte formula is very comfortable on the lips it does not dry out your lips and is very smooth and opaque in one swipe. It stays matte  but doesn't feel like you have anything on your lips. This is probably one of the best matte formulas I have ever tried in lipsticks and probably the best formula in the Urban Decay Vice lipstick line.

If you are thinking of purchasing a Urban Decay Vice Lipstick then I highly suggest checking out one form the comfort matte shades

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel - Holiday 2016

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel  is part of the holiday 2016 collection and is a limited edition palette that retails for $44

Each year Tarte cosmetics releases a blush palette for the holidays and if you are a tarte Amazonian blush fan then this is a very good value as you are able to try out a few different shades in a palette.

This year palette comes with 10 blush shades that contains 2.4g/0.084oz of each shade. The Shades are the same size as the ones on their contour palettes

If you do not own any of tarte blushes then this is good one to try out the formula and some of their shades. Even though the colors are new and limited edition if you do own a lot of tarte bushes you will find that the shades are pretty similar. I do suggest checking the palette out for yourself before purchasing.

I do think this is a good value and a good shade range for different skin tones.
